One 80-lb bag lays about 35 standard blocks or 100 bricks.
+How high can I build without engineering?
Unreinforced: 4-6ft depending on local code. Over 4ft retaining walls almost always need engineering.
+What mortar type do I use?
Type S: structural, retaining walls, below grade. Type N: general above-grade, veneer. Type M: heavy loads, foundations.
