+How much extra should I buy?
10% for straight layout, 15% for diagonal, 20% for herringbone or complex patterns. Plus keep a few pieces for future repairs.
+Do I need underlayment?
Yes for all floating floors (laminate, luxury vinyl plank). Not needed for glue-down or nail-down installations.
+How long to acclimate flooring?
Wood: 3-5 days in the room. Laminate: 48-72 hours. LVP: 48 hours. Keep in the room at normal temperature.
+How much grout for tile?
1 bag of unsanded grout covers 70-100 sq ft for 12" tiles with 1/8" joints. Larger joints need sanded grout.
